The Determination of Relationships Between Live Weight with Various Body Measurement in Japanese Quail Using Principal Component Analysis

Öz

The objective of this research was to investigate the relationship between live weight and body measurements. Total 109 Japanese quail were used in the study and their aged 72 day. The some body measurements (mm) (wing length, body length, leg length, beak length, beak width and chest girth measurements) and live weight (g) were taken from every animal. The relationships between live weight and body measurement effected on growth performance of animal were examined with correlation coefficients and Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Live weight and body length were found as statistically significant for female and male animal groups with ANOVA (p <0.05).The highest correlation coefficients were calculated between live weight and body length (r = 0.47 ) and beak length with beak width (r = 0.47). Principal component analysis summarized 8 variables with 2 principal component and It was found that for all traits first 2 principal components explained 79 % of total variation. As a result, live weight, wing length, body length and chest girth were found high correlated but foot and beak measurements are low correlated on growth perfomance.
Bu çalışmada Japon bıldırcınlarında canlı ağırlık ile çeşitli vücut ölçüleri arasındaki ilişkilerin belirlenmesine çalışılmıştır. Bu amaçla deneme hayvanı olarak 72 günlük yaşta bulunan 109 Japon bıldırcınının vücut ölçüleri (mm) (kanat uzunluğu, vücut uzunluğu, ayak uzunluğu, orta parmak uzunluğu, gaga uzunluğu, gaga genişliği, göğüs çevresi ) ve canlı ağırlıkları (g) alınmıştır. Canlı ağırlık ile çeşitli vücut ölçüleri arasındaki ilişkilerin belirlenmesinde ise korelasyon katsayıları ve Temel Bileşenler Analizi (TBA) kullanılarak hayvanların büyüme performansları üzerine olan etkileri araştırılmıştır. İncelenen özellikler bakımından cinsiyet faktörünün etkisi canlı ağırlık ve vücut uzunluğu bakımından önemli bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Ayrıca özellikler arasında en yüksek korelasyon katsayıları canlı ağırlık ile vücut uzunluğu arasında (r=0,47) ve gaga genişliği ile gaga yüksekliği arasında (r=0,47) hesaplanmıştır. Temel bileşenler analiz sonucunda kullanılan 8 değişkeni, 2 temel bileşen ile özetlenmiştir. Buna göre elde edilen 2 temel bileşenin toplam varyasyonu açıklama oranı % 79 olmuştur. Sonuç olarak büyüme performansı üzerine canlı ağırlık, kanat uzunluğu, vücut uzunluğu ve göğüs çevresi yüksek ilişkili iken ayak ve gaga ölçüleri ise düşük ilişkili özellikler olarak bulunmuştur
